PARAKHINA Dina

Born in Russia, Dina Parakhina studied at the Central Music School in Moscow, then at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. After graduating with honours, she became a piano teacher at the Central School of Music at the Moscow Conservatory, where she headed the department for fifteen years.

Since moving to the United Kingdom and being appointed as a pianist with the BBC in the early 1990s, Dina Parakhina has always combined teaching with an active performing career. She has performed frequently in recitals and as a soloist with leading Russian and British orchestras in prestigious venues around the world, and has toured extensively in Europe and Asia.

As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with Yuri Torchinsky, Lyobov Kazarnovskaya, Gegem Grogoriam, Nikita Storojev and Valentin Feigin, with whom she performed a German radio broadcast of Rubinstein’s Cello Sonata.

She has also made several recordings and live broadcasts with BBC Radio 3.

Dina Parakhina is currently a piano professor at the Royal College of Music in London, the Royal Northern College of Music, and Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester.
